Taylor Swift's track Patient Zero officially debuted at the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during its very first week of release. This new release temporarily interrupted the record-breaking run of Ella Langley's song Choosin Texas at the top of the chart. The shift in the nation's most heavily consumed song lasted for at least one week. Observers noted how this change highlighted a temporary redirection in American music consumption preferences.
