Following BTS, K-pop group Stray Kids has decided not to submit their music for the upcoming 69th Grammy Awards. JYP Entertainment confirmed this decision shortly after the Recording Academy reaffirmed its plan to proceed with the controversial Best Asian Pop Music Performance category. Critics and artists argue that this new category segregates K-pop from the main award categories despite its mainstream global success. Stray Kids, who have topped the Billboard charts multiple times and whose members hold Grammy voting rights, were considered strong candidates for the new category before deciding against participation.
