Stray Kids Join BTS in Withholding Music From 2027 Grammy Consideration

Label JYP Entertainment announced on Friday, October 2, that the eight-piece boy band Stray Kids will not submit any music for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, following BTS in withholding submissions. The group's decision reportedly comes in response to the Recording Academy's recent installation of a best Asian pop music performance category. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. addressed concerns regarding the category after listening sessions with leaders and stakeholders from the Asian music community. Meanwhile, Stray Kids recently topped the Billboard 200 twice over the past year with their November EP DO IT and August release THIS & THAT. Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Stray Kids and the Grammys for further comment on the matter.
