Melon Creates Forests Named After BigBang and BlackPink
연합뉴스 ·
South Korean music streaming platform Melon announced on October 2 that it has created urban forests named after prominent groups including BigBang and BlackPink. This initiative is part of Melon's eco-friendly Forest Streaming project launched in June 2022 to build forests in downtown Seoul through fan participation. Regular subscribers select their favorite artist on the project page, allowing up to two percent of their monthly subscription payment to accumulate automatically. Once twenty million won is accumulated for a specific artist, Melon adds five million won in donations to total twenty-five million won for the Seoul Environmental Movement Union. Consequently, a forest bearing the artist's name is established in Seoul through these concerted efforts.
