On Saturday, the 36-year-old pop superstar took to her Instagram Stories to share a link to the eight-minute behind-the-scenes release Patient Zero (Expanded Video) on Apple Music. The music video, which Swift directed, originally premiered at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27 and features Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. In the fictional narrative of the video, Johnson plays a woman facing deteriorating health while married to Farrell's character, and Swift portrays the ghost of Farrell's former wife warning Johnson about his past. Patient Zero is one of four tracks released on Swift's project The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore alongside Cleveland, Pink Clouding, and Babylon.
